pseudointellectualism

what do you do when pseudo must become quasi but limits are the oppression of the layman… true freedom untenable. merely a desire and never an "is".

i’ve left the console world and I am not remiss…

i really owe beamdog and steam an apology as well as a fist bump to github for making the appreciably more optimized version of neverwinter nights enhanced edition a reality. I guess they were taking notes from half-life’s playbook because both of them were tear inducing future technology 20 years ago and mr. newell gave everybody who got on early an early christmas present in the guise of the trilogy wrapped up in a tidy package. new gamers need not be deterred because it’s not bleeding edge but it still retains it’s title a “bucket list” game and if you want to play a valve approved remake of half life one… technically the swag nerd title that started this crazyness black mesa has come to the rescue resurrected by the community for 20.00$ american as opposed to half life 2’s 10$. let’s get this straight, i’m no programmer. half life 2 runs like butter on medium powered hardware but neverwinter nights needs just a little bit more love from the community in the developer beta drop down in the steam app interface to make seriously considering releasing the hd art pack on the steam workshop as new dlc a prudent decision. i picked up soul reaver 1 and 2 taking me back to my childhood in each instance. and before you open your big millennial mouth, there is a hd option its just placed in an inopportune place no matter what gamepad you play it on just in case you have a feigned love for mediocre pixels.

like they say across the pond “let’s get down to brass tacks.” if you want to play neverwinter nights with the official steam powered textures that make it oh so attractive that you miss that “slightly lackluster” story that i complained about but are plagued with microstutter, and you detest microstutter… and like me you are not a programmer but when provided with the right succinct tools to get you plugged in the m variable slope of that short line between two connecting points… git hub has your back… provided you have the steam version. they just came out with a tool with an actual interface that doesn’t require any knowledge of strings and arrays and all such things that make wanna be fools like me fight to control the bile building up in the back of their throats when they are mentioned in an faq claiming to be “simple.” trust me, the only thing simple in this equation is me. i’m not going to explain to you how to do it… i’m going to allow you to find your own way in the dark like i did but the tool makes the relationship between local downloaded repository .zip files and your pc way more palatable. evidently the deed can be done with this new tool and a new open source programming language called nim. hell, they even haven’t a heavily vignetted “toon” setting in the mix for free. don’t forget to unzip your repositories. or clone, compile… all that stuff i have no idea how to do because i didn’t major in comp sci in college.

so right now i’m in peanut heaven with the soul reaver remake and neverwinter nights enhanced edition an enhanced version of half life and super meatboy forever with a few others and i feel like i’ve had my holiday… did i mention sony released a 700$ American ps5 “true” update? they must have gotten into shigeru miyamoto’s peyote stash… i mean really?
