see, depending on who you are and how much money you want to spend on a device whose prime purpose in your life is to create digital worlds for you to frolic in, even though at this point i’m so obsessed with the swag that i have a one terabyte hard drive with about ten or fifteen games on it and seem to use it more to load my handheld device and write this futile blog… but anyway, like i was saying, i’m sure you’ve heard of path of exile. the beta for the second iteration is now a total game and if you can’t play that, see here’s where the folly of computer gaming comes in. i destroyed a perfectly fine hard drive on this game because i didn’t know when my p.c.’s limits came into play and the game isn’t optimized incredibly well. however, today i noticed that the first version of the game, which of course is probably going to be the same game that they have been making for the past five, ten years, received a considerable update. it lacks the controller capability and fresh newness of path of exile two but just might be worth giving a whirl if you have a google book that you want to turn the settings down a few on, for the price this one seems to have some nice specs but have a chat with your friend who really does this as a hobby before you buy anything that i recommend in that never ending pursuit of that amazon commission, because at that price, don’t expect a discrete graphics card and, even though this game is free, it’s demanding. but if your vendor gives you the “steam deck” seal of approval, don’t buy from me and carry on. by the way, both games are free if you have a steam account which is basically one of these online drm sites that you have to join and purchase your games from, arguably the largest and most prolific of the bunch… but not these, these are free, and exceptional to be free. however if you are careless, there is a serious chance that you can damage your precious p.c… integrated graphics not recommended. but we all know you’re spending your free time with your playstation 5 if you didn’t miss the father’s day sale so stop whining. so, to make a long story short, grinding gears is trying to breathe new life into the first installment of their franchise and seemingly is spreading themselves a bit thin. i’m new to this co-op play stuff so i’m getting confused on how to join a party, every one of my party members is like 10 levels above me because I started from scratch, all that stuff that kills your joy when you play a free mmo. but nothing is better than free in most cases, and this dlc is relatively new. check it out. *** quick update… you would think that people who played hundreds of hours of a game and enjoyed it would jump at the chance to play it optimized co-op but these are the most stand-offish sticks in the mud i have ever have the displeasure to play with. i’m gonna wait a few days and forget this title. thanks for nothing community. so here’s the issue. the game is free, there’s nothing you can say, when you try to join a party, they don’t tell you that unless you import your entire finished character in the game, you will be trying to join a guild and they will be on a level of the game that you haven’t played yet. so you can enjoy the game as a first time player and save those characters so you can travel to wherever the guild your trying to join is playing, or replay the whole thing and curse grinding gears. it’s not horrible and it’s been a while and they’ve added a few things so it counts as a win… i guess. still have to say free, when done this well… is still better than nothin’.
