did you have any idea that in addition to being one of Europe’s more successful manufacturers of grain and other food and consumer products… that the Ukraine was basically to a significant extent “plugged in” to the world economy to an arguably but not justifiably exclusive degree? it was referred to as the “breadbasket of Europe,” not just Russia… Europe. you have to wonder if that has anything to do with the “wait and see” stance that the U.S. and pretty much the rest of G7 has taken in response to the bilateral atrocities that have become the hallmark of that senseless war. like i said a few posts back the annual steam summer sale is on and, if you want to take the risk, you know what this blog is mostly about and mentioning things close to my heart, a ukrainian developer by the name of 4A has two deeply discounted original and worthy of remastering, thusly remastered games based on a book by Dmitry Glukhovsky by the name of Metro 2033, basically your same fallout situation but not a fallout clone. trash weapons seemingly cobbled out of vehicle and appliance parts. a constant need for gas masks and oxygen filters and ammunition scavenged off of dead soldiers which serves as not only ammunition but currency in the lack of proper commerce. and dark junk settlements of humans driven underground by a critical nuclear event abound in this mature, linear, fallout thriller with a little bit of reality occult thrown in for good measure. that’s the only way i can describe it. as for Dmitry Glukhovsky if thats not a russian pseudonym search me but with the hell from above vladimir putin unleashed on kiev no doubt right now he wishes it was. anyway, i have 180 days to sell three things as an amazon affiliate to remain one. i can’t attempt to sell you the ip because we’ve all gone digital, but you can take advantage of the free trials of audible or kindle if you haven’t already. and if you want to support this man, probably defected from this destroyed country with a purchase for your kindle or tablet you can do so here. if you want to make me a few cents and try audible through my site because you have adhd and can’t concentrate on a type written page like an alarming amount of us here’s a free trial to audible with a book or two to keep. two backtracking caveats… even the original games being a decade old aren’t super optimized and in the past were used to benchmark desktops so they are still capable of giving incapable p.c.’s a serious, unenjoyable, slide show workout. however, if you have a proper, fairly recent gaming p.c… no worries. what i don’t understand about the games is the ridiculously cheap price that steam is selling them for… even the remakes of the original two games, metro 2033 redux and metro last light redux respectively, are like 3 dollars a peice. this is not charity, these games are coherent works in the vain of fallout with more mature themes and a good dose of eastern european charm… that is, if you can run them without damaging your p.c. of course. so tell all your friends, whether you steal them on this sale or delay your purchase until the sale is over and feel slightly better about yourself.

pray for peace,

the ummi
