now bear with me… i usually don’t deal in scientifically based articles and if your a regular reader you recognize that the majority of what I write consists of rants that I hope my audience finds to be interesting… but chasing those grants and accolades “big science” claims that they have used ancient DNA samples to bring back the dire wolf from extinction. if you’ve ever played dungeons and dragons digitally or with some friends and a twenty sided die… i recommend it digitally… you’ve heard the term. ostensibly, this is what we’re meant to do, to explore, to think, to enrich our world to the extent of our God given various abilities. however, if i remember correctly, if these things are going to be native to america, they stand approximately 8 feet tall at the shoulder, have little to no predatory enemies, and hunt intelligently in packs like regular wolves. i mean, kudos on the pseudo science, but who thought this was a good idea?.. anybody? i stand corrected, evidently dire wolves didn’t possess the hyperbolic proportions necessary to survive as a predator in the ages predating man in my personal opinion. excuse the misinformation. i just refuse to believe that before our squishy selves had the world wiped clean for us and we began our sad attempt at organizing it a three and a half foot wolf that hunted in packs was something that could survive no how intelligently it did so… no need for caution… they were three and half feet at the shoulder, nothing to be alarmed about, fawn over the cute pictures of them being bottle fed and shown off by non God fearing imagined demagogues… anybody have enough brains left to read game of thrones? i do believe they are mentioned there. i mean, measles is making a comeback, but at least we’ll have non naturally viable reverse engineered wildlife to gawk at in the zoo.
