WI used to try to have at least one new console entry every time the big three decided to retool their platforms. but maybe its the fact that i’m 45 years old and acutely sensing my mortality way too early but I have a oled nintendo switch and if mumba, at least I do believe that’s the name of the company manufacturing the grip that makes its build feel solid in my hands I wouldn’t have that. if your a successful adult and don’t mind spending way too much cash on something that your just going to play video games and blog on… I have a suggestion. The pc gaming community is filled with bright, and not so bright individuals such as myself who just like to spectate and enjoy the fruits of their labor. most of the games on my pc have not fallen victim to the console gaming tax, and i take care of my machine with the proper antivirus and anti malware software namely bitdefender, malwarebytes, and ccleaner. make sure that you know what the microsoft DISm fix for file system corruption is… and know that the first thing you should do to diagnose an issue is to run sfc /verifyonly, not scannow. if your computer has an error in its file system, scannow is going to make amendments without alerting you to what it did. so do some research. that being said there are a bunch of remastered pc games out right now which offer the extra textures for free. As i just mentioned in the last article neverwinter nights has adopted a community texture mod, Planescape torment has successfully completed a kickstarter as has wasteland 2… the predecessor of the first fallout if you weren’t aware. and as you would imagine… “sith lord” newell has a lot on his plate with the incredible success of the steam deck so instead of wasting resources on making half life 3, half life 2 has received a gratis 20 year coat of paint and half life 2 and the two expansion episodes that benefit from this “facelift” are free ’til tomorrow 10 am pacific. currently i’m trying to play through the fan made reboot of half life 1, black mesa, which steam graciously allows for purchase on their client. that has also received a retooling of blue shift with upgraded visuals available in the steam workshop. if i was determined to get my fix however… i’m enjoying black mesa and half life 2 for the win. i don’t have a ps5, no xbox series x… and i can imagine all us middle age geezers chuckling to ourselves when phil spencer made the announcement that the xbox series x would play the lion’s share of the xbox library from the consoles inception until now. remember november 2004? sigh.
