it’s not “epic” in the sense that dragon age origins is, i mean it came out a few years later and i’m guessing because of the limitations of the dvd as a physical medium for gaming, console gamers got the short of the stick even though i had a bunch of fun with my female rogue. the pc controls were horrible with you having to use your mouse like a controller and it just didn’t feel right. that has been fixed. i assume girls love it because it’s story rich and almost fully voiced with plenty of action which may overwhelm you if you don’t expect to put any effort into the combat whatsoever. plus there is furry romance a plenty to be had with the male members of the cast even though the female protagonists are way more relevant. in short, there’s something less cerebral for everybody to like. the girls even do that cute little “im trying to hurry” run. anyway, unlike your used to, the problem with launching this game… if you tinker with your games a bit is that it has a dual jointed launch process which requires your individual accounts to be linked if you purchase the steam/ea version but, rest assured… you only need one version of the game on a compatible platforms. i’m not trusting myself to get this right but i think your really going to like it so i’m posting this. if you’re confused this should get you golden. i don’t remember having to dig this deep but maybe that’s a good thing. this sounds about right… sorry about that. this is pretty much the “do no harm” version of what your trying to do. go over it with your boyfriend and as with any change to your p.c. that you make to relax the safeguards that your antivirus uses to keep it safe, it does expose it a bit so make sure you have a good one. i’m not a thief so avg free has done me well so far. as has their browser protection.

Disabling Mandatory ASLR

To disable Mandatory ASLR, you can use the Windows Security settings. Here is a step-by-step guide:

  1. Open Windows Security: Go to the Start menu and type “Windows Security” to open the app.
  2. Navigate to App & Browser Control: Click on “App & browser control” in the left-hand menu.
  3. Exploit Protection Settings: Scroll down and click on “Exploit protection settings” under the “Exploit protection” section.
  4. System Settings: In the “System settings” tab, find “Force randomization for images (Mandatory ASLR)” and toggle it to “Off”.
  5. Restart Your Device: After enabling, you will need to restart your device for the changes to take effect.

Considerations and Compatibility

While enabling Mandatory ASLR can enhance security, it may introduce compatibility issues with some applications, especially older ones. These applications might have been built with assumptions about the base address of a binary file or have stripped out base relocation information, leading to unpredictable errors.

Compatibility Considerations:

  • Older Applications: Applications built with older compilers that assume a fixed base address may encounter issues.
  • Portable Software: Some portable programs might not function correctly with ASLR enabled.
  • Testing: It is recommended to test exploit protection in all target use scenarios using audit mode before deploying the configuration across a production environment.

Additional Security Features

In addition to Mandatory ASLR, consider enabling other security features to enhance your system’s protection:

  • Memory Integrity in Core Isolation: Helps prevent attacks from inserting malicious code into high-security processes.
  • Controlled Folder Access: Protects files and folders from unauthorized changes by ransomware or other malicious apps.

By enabling these features, you can significantly improve the security posture of your Windows device.

it’s not the entire list that you would use to get it functioning… all i remember having to do was turning off force randomization for images and cleaning out the ea cache but view this as me attempting to steer you in the right direction, i’m not a player i’m a customer as yourself… but whenever something asks you to override system settings, unless that was you opening the executable as an administrator… you don’t have to deal with it even though your switching settings off here so despite negligible security issues you still should be fine, and giving it 30 or so minutes, amused.

have a good one,
