the original which runs butter smooth with nim.

ispent entirely too much time thinking that the original classic version of neverwinter nights was an option in the enhanced edition. I’m leaving this article as it is. now first off, in the last build of neverwinter nights enhanced edition, which has been out since… lemme check, since about five years ago beamdog still has some work to do if they truly want to bring this masterpiece to “the people.” despite what I said in the previous entry… and its still Kind of sorry. the enhanced graphics are claimed again, from one of these obsessed fanatics and probably used as a foundation with some money exchanged… wonderful, i suspect this because i used to frequent the community boards, looking for a fix because what bioware did with the polygons in a game that came out in 2002 was damn near sublime if, plagued by bugs that the community spent damn near a decade stomping.

but still heavenly enough in fact that when the enhanced edition first came out beamdog used those exact same graphics, tweaked by them and the rabid community of course. the latest patch beamdog claims is made for their circle of obsessives to play for themselves but, not to be neglected is available to the public. i like the presentation of the steam version but its available for all the clients. I will list the explanation of the reboot and the latest patch here, I’m assuming that you can pick up the official versions of the patch at their respective clients, steam, good old games, and beamdog and obtain the install on them. the story is still a little bit boring but leaving it for about a year and coming back with this beautiful, a good bit more optimized, version i realize that bioware and beamdog were going for a slow burn as opposed to an inferno, it had to be patched to all hell when it was first released and the fans and programmers probably teamed up on the original neverwinter nights diamond edition. however when bioware and the community, after that decades long sprint, said the dishes were done, they were done. this version is good if you have a good machine, but my love still burns with diamond because it runs on way more hardware with way more dreamlike fluidity. so that being said… get it off good old games, a site of retro computer games maintained by cd projekt red of witcher and cyperpunk 2077 fame.

for what the ip is and the machines that the enhanced edition causes microstutter on, it’s inexcusable. however, the graphics are beautiful and modern. if your one of these dudes that is into the “waking dream” experience and that microstutter is gonna ruin that for you, save that 10$, 19$ bucks and find a modernized version of the diamond edition. like I said, despite the community still playing this thing interactively here and there, and desperately churning out new content for better or worse… the story can’t help to be a little lackluster yet highly playable. still, when you have studios like Larian producing divinity original sin it could be a hard sell depending on who you talk to… but that’s about it. I told you if i have a new thought that these things evolve in prose as i think. see if you don’t have a middle aged, young adultish adhd issue, which we all seem to explain our stupidity with these days… planescape torment just completed a successful kickstarter a few years ago… baldur’s gate just rebooted their original franchise… wasteland 2 also re- released a few years ago. then you have larian, producers of what was more of a re- imagining than a remaster of divinity in divinity: original sin so you fools can stop lying about playing the original baldur’s gate every year to “stay in touch” when you should be playing dragon age origins, with the white teeth mod of course.

but not being this incredible intellect i like the situations that these ancient games present to you with dumbing down the same necessity for buffs and potions as the new, more complex fare but redacted and left as it was in the original era so you have to think.. but not too much. the primitive hi fidelity polygons in good old games diamond edition of this dungeons and dragons classic… if they haven’t had it removed due to pressure from beamdog. should you decide to search for a modernized legal version of the diamond edition… do not present to me as a bad experience and provided you have anything approaching a new gpu it runs like a warm knife through butter and that’s a problem… especially with every iteration of the new beamdog property retaining that sorry as hell microstutter without tweaking and on hardware that it makes no sense for you to need to run it, it’s a dual core game with a new slathering of paint on it for christ’s sake… still worth a purchase for both… but however, I’ve found what might be a fix for you if you have a decent gaming machine with a monitor that is capable of 75hz or more… set those three video limit numbers to 75, or you can just toggle frame limiting to off. if you have one of those wiz bang 120hz monitors this probably isn’t a consideration for you so that’s only if your one of these freaks who is obsessed with this game and are loving it with new, modest hardware. someday if I’m still comfortable enough financially to buy a decent computer neverwinter nights in her true accessible glory will come, but for now its good old games diamond edition. try it, you might like it.
