firstly i hope all you parents out there with gaming aged children have gotten in on the retail prices still available before the worst of the tariff hammer of president trump’s months long no longer funny “day of autocracy” is here. i do believe you can still purchase ps5 consoles on amazon for original retail, i suggest you do so at your earliest convenience because yes i get paid off that link so find another one, but seriously, those prices ain’t breaking and there’s a good chance that black friday will be a little violent. you’d probably be shocked at the number of walmart employees calling in sick and taking personal days. anyway, I’ve been valuing hard drive space over trivia these days, and it probably works this way with most computers, but i keep getting welcome surprises from my 19 dollar logitech f310 economy controller. its confirmed that it is p.c. only, that was no surprise to me, but the synergy between that passionate team at grinding gear games and what has to be the acceptance as far as steam goes for an ip with a extremely strange yet very successful business model where they crank out premium content and the community of ravenous whales that keeps their business above water empty their pockets on what are basically cosmetic gft’s for a diablo clone. with the advent of the steam deck however… valve is making way less excuses and cop outs. for example, right now me and my trusty f310 are giving path of exile one another go. i guess that’s what happens when you try to make reality out of a discount handheld pc with mouse style touchpads, directional toggles, discrete clicky buttons and joysticks… oh, and don’t forget the touchscreen… you basically have to be killing everything on the market with the software if you want to keep producing units. yet like i said, pretty much everything is mapped sensibly from the get go. its p.c. only and i like that. it has that odd man out ugly ps3 ergonomic feel that makes me feel like i’m sharing some sort of private joke with logitech that nobody else is in on, still a dream to play for me… and if this is a precipitent effect of the steam deck and the endless, straight razor honing that steam feels is worth it’s while to make the deck work in the p.c. space, and even beyond that the reciprocity… mr. spencer, we’re going to need more than half assed non completionist backwards compatibility. we all know that gabe newell is no stranger to changing the game. i have no impetus… i don’t work in the field… i don’t have any answers… all i know is that this feels good but i don’t have 400 dollars to give you for a console that i’m too weak to hold up to my face.

peace,

ummi
