the most incredible legal way to acquire retro games with collectible physical media… period.

the hypermegatech super pocket is cool as hell. if you were wondering that is my Amazon Afiliate logo right there, if you purchase it through that link i make one or two bucks. but back off that tangent, each device has 15 to 18 games baked into its bright, beautifully hued shell. i have trimmed down my blog considerably so i do believe i wrote an entry that went over the uncanny coolness of the evercade previously but they have folded and, the equally cool super pocket is left to keep the torch aflame.

59.99 for the console, 29.99 for the media, at least somebody affiliated gets paid.

so, i’m not entirely sure of the business model, but if you truly love this hobby and these games and don’t want to break the bank… hypermegatech is here for you with exclusive evercade sku compatible, physical media to take you back to a simpler time for about 59.99 at amazon, with multiple retro games on each compatible cartridge you buy. your best bet would be to buy a collection that has a game you definitely know you love because sometimes you get a lemon of a litany of games that suck. evidently, evercade has gone the way of the dinosaur, but please support these guys. evercade physical media is compatible with these small comfortable consoles and they all retail at less than 30$ at amazon. in fact, even being approximately the same size, this feels better to me than my RG 35xx did.

i’m not discussing the ethics of “handheld emulation” and the ethics of Chinese companies like Anbernic who make these grey legal area devices, but if you love these games so much and you’re not bleeding to death in today’s economy… show some love. it’s all at Amazon. evercade has already evidently folded under the pressure of a bad business model and a horrible design choice and i personally don’t want to see super pocket do the same. actually evercade just scaled back a bit… you tell me what you think… besides them making mini 1ups that nobody is going to buy. i see super pockets on their u.s. site so you should have a few to enjoy the beauty which is this device. if you’re interested, here it is for free. evercade homepage.
