I remember coming down here in about ’06… I think I had a pentium then. I don’t even think that I was able to boot, never mind play half life 2. I remember neverwinter nights though. I remember how the calculated micro stutters, before the supply chain issues used to give me fits… and if you chose to give this game a try and your p.c. is anything but slight overkill for what they’ve done to it, it’ll give you fits as well. This is an old man on ozempic who is coming to grips with his destiny so while you’re sitting on Lorenzo’s I’m playing 20 year old games on a 13770 and 4770 with 12 gigs of DDR5 video memory which i supposedly bought for myself with this dry ass blog. As far as the game is concerned, Beamdog has labeled the release the default finished version of the game. It’s not perfect but it seems they even came to an agreement with the HD art pak and navigating that valley of egg shells that you have to when your trying to satisfy as many customers as possible while still maintaining a satisfactory level of fidelity for all of them. Did I mention in 2006 when i first fired it up i had a pentium, and like not even a good pentium or gpu. Without the mods it’s not even worth the lazy 19.99 that they charge for squashing digital bugs so don’t waste your money. Other better and more deliciously complicated games have been released and we moved on. Yet, for those of us who recognized that Dungeons and Dragons had the potential to be more than a conjugal combination of critical thinking skills, development of story telling ability, and mathematical skills and bit in spite of the janky graphics engine and the simple plot there was substance here instead of what I’ve seen as a labored exercise meant to make students better students, not like there’s anything wrong with that . if you weren’t an enchanted impostor this “substance” to be had with one of you playing dungeon master and controlling the fate of his like minded friends. lonely imposter as I am. about a decade and a half or so I began biding my time for the community/developer/computing machine combination that would be necessary to bring this dream to fruition. multiple diablo’s were released with better merit and lower recommended specs… Advanced polygons, fully voiced storytelling, hell, the latest diablo even has vitiligo as a character choice for those of us Africans who play African American characters… if that isn’t a full throated declaration of “black is beautiful,” i don’t know what is, whether its honest or not. however it’s not about that. Dragon Age got rid of the memory leak, they remade wasteland 2 and kick started planescape torment and here is this little shite with this tease of a completed intellectual property in the near future running in place. love ya to death, you didn’t have a choice. and as for the texture pack, thank you for tying up all the loose ends. if you have a decent computer, which if your not a computer guy by now it will cost you less than being a console guy if those frames show you love… it’s poetry in motion but I am once again at the boring, archaic beginning of the game hoping not to be disappointed again. This game could have been so epic had it been groomed correctly. Well, there’s always Dragon Age Origins. Upon a second look, the graphics seemed to be cleaned up, proportions refined and close to as fun as I tried to have when the property was filled with microstutter. I mean that was in my twenties, i’m in my forties. The real question i have is, what happened to my beloved monk combat styles? I’m going to try a few things and I may report back or I may not. Ok, so evidently, my only experience with playing a monk was with fubar and they used to give you the chicken and waffles up front, whatever you want, however you want to use it. Oh, and just for you masochists who love Dead Cells, but miss that stolen original feeling, the Castlevania collab is on steam right now. You should be able to get away with a capable google book. I can’t see any p.c. that cost more than mine, 2g’s 2 years and I’m ready for another two. If I was making money blogging with this thing like you lunatics swear I am I could probably find a way to write it off. but in the words of the comely youtuber Taliyah Joelle, that’s a story for another day.
chewed,
the ummi
