yes, you heard me correctly. 360 gb of skyrim. now here’s the non-lawsuit inducing part of the equation… the mod isn’t optimized all that well and to run it you need a copy of the anniversary edition of skyrim and a decent pc to facilitate this so that truncates the free fun a bit, but chances are if you fall into the other category you have an anniversary version of skyrim and a serviceable p.c. i went with the 5.25 version. so if you don’t and you watch a let’s play on youtube and you have a current computer, i guarantee you that your next move is downloading the 10 dollar anniversary edition upgrade of skyrim off of steam. it falls into that symbiotic relationship of hardware and software that has been a factor in their market since gaming computers were a thing. bleeding edge software exist to push cutting edge hardware and even now there are individuals with the capital to have access to both. i didn’t see the original 300 gig effort but things are working out, fans in my rig are returning to regular speed relatively quickly. however, the roach stomping part of the situation… it’s better, i mean… no superman physique b.s., the world has a certain charm to it which, while i can afford it, i like, new areas in dungeons, all that good stuff. the player character is definitely muscular but he doesn’t look like he-man like everybody else does it. wonderful fealty. disrespectful fealty because the game is better, like 360gigs better, and they keep iterating on it. i took like the lower middling choice with my 10 gig down internet plan and it took me 10 hours of uninterrupted downloading to get it right really, not broken modlists, but having to reload things. the violence is over the top and incredible, dismemberments a plenty but my black magic woman was getting her ass handed to her repeatedly. i agree it is too much to ask them to balance it as well. yet and still, sincerely dedicated fans or no… at the end of the day it’s a multilayered detail job on skyrim anniversary edition with incredible hyperviolence. first impressions, close to photo realistic graphics if you can drive them, diversified dungeons even though most of the quest are the same, i’m having a good time but with this collection of 2000 mods i’m waiting for the sabos to jam up the machine. i mean, the software won’t even let you finish the installment until all of those 2000 mods are present in some way or shape. again, keep in mind that this is a curated collection of 2000 mods over the span of 300 gb’s of skyrim with heavy scripting and resolution ammendments, be careful about downloading new files and changing the load order. my advice would be to get it to work, and leave and enjoy it, you probably will have to use a vpn of one type of another to manage the files, there’s a free one that i used by the name of proton and it did the trick. so far a good time though, good on nolvus. really the message to take away from all this is that all of the elder scrolls iterations arguably deserve a remaster, but a gifted section of the community just decided on this, probably having to do with the age and utility of the assets. oh, almost forgot to link it, here you go.
peace,
the ummi
