now, first the good which all of it is and i’m done. in my eyes despite the micro transactions’ diablo iv has become an incredible game. unlike path of exile 2, which admittedly is free on steam you just have to search for it, you pay 90$ up front for the ultimate edition, they front you enough money to buy a decent pair of armor, add two playable characters and your off, they don’t rely on whales so the average full armor set will cost you 30$ as opposed to 50$ or 60$. i also love the way that the fashion is configured so the armor sets you buy are strictly aesthetic and beautiful provided your computer can handle them so you worry less about that necessary gameplay upgrade ruining your sexy and concentrate on the story and being effective enough to finish it. (granted, they got that in simplified form from path of exile, no gypsy transmogs, pay up front and it’ll be in your characters wardrobe.) now keep in mind you have plenty of time to get the gear you want even though it rotates every 24 hours. i have my “heavenly guard,” armor set and my “lightbringer’s” armor set as well. if you attended a decent church and listened you understand what a dick move that is (Rev. 3:16). however, that is the essence of this game. the story is mostly voice acted all well, and as i mentioned in a previous article… as african americans we always think it has to be all about us… you know? now if you choose an african character in diablo iv, in addition to the pan African hues that all of us come in, there is the option to create a character with vitiligo. i don’t know what unique skin conditions are available for white people, like hair and eye color variations aren’t enough, and also available to black player characters as well no matter how nazi inconceivable. (when’s the last you’ve seen a person with purple eyes?) they didn’t have to do that, but they did. the usual dreads…check, sexy dyke ceasar… check… curly girl… check, curly fro… check, etc. as well as a good selection of beards like anybody is going to see it. personally i can’t see a more explicit way that a company which is entirely large enough to be apathetic can say that black is beautiful to them, whether it is or not. i’m not playing diablo, but i’m going to enjoy the rest of my unsunny Sunday, good on blizzard.
i have to include this, i know i am a chronic recidivist with this blog but i have to mention my favorite budget pc controller if amazon has let it out from under their thumb. this thing is 20$ bucks and blizzard loves it. i love the shape, i love the control integration… granted i’m only speaking in terms of diablo IV but please consider purchasing a logi F310 through my link… or not, because, full transparency, the integration with other clients isn’t perfect. i can’t link it to my amazon associates account because amazon keeps it exclusive, what does that tell you. this controller has been good and cheap for 20 plus years and has only gotten better over those two and a half decades. that’s probably the reason that amazon keeps it off the market for associates.
