this is probably going to stay short. now if your child’s school doesn’t buy these things because they don’t come in their size or the sound quality of the bulk packages they’ve tried even though amazon has a few bulk exam ear monitors which will probably save them a good sum of money, that’s really what i’m talking about here… if you’re into bang for your buck headphones that don’t overdo the bass or choke on the mids and trebles of your favorite tracks, especially coupled with the quality, pain in the ass, i’m not gonna lie, digital audio players like the surfans F20, which i constantly mention only because i own one, getting quirkier every day. until you get a certified, more compact pair of hi-res headphones, the model number is the sony ZX310AP ZX series. those are really the ones you want, the electric blue, black, or white, but the white is like 10$ more because you know… japan. sony has been making these headphones the same way, with approximately the same design, for over 20 years now. so if you either want to torture yourself, or are an accomplished digital thief, they are a good pair of headphones to pair with the surfans F20 because they are 1. compact and cheap considering the sound they produce and 2. surprisingly dependent on (in my opinion,) and actively reflective of the quality of the recording that they are referencing so i just usually stick to itunes. i’m always bored but until you get that hi-res set of headphones as a new years’ chaser from those “grandma checks,” they won’t do you dirty, even though as far as form and function are concerned, i’ve never in my 40 plus years seen anything like them. maybe that’s because after all these years i still love the bass feel of traditional headphones even though i did briefly with the wired apple earbuds and i have matured with my music to the point where i appreciate an accurate bass signature. keep in mind that the device does most of the heavy lifting so when you get enough of your current player you might want to get something more accurate. as for my ZX310AP ZX’s, they’ll probably end up being my backups or my main for being where i’m someplace that i don’t want to be, however… the sound for the price and form factor, like i said… is hard to beat. if you’re looking to contract tinnitus, like i was in high school… get something with 50mm bass drivers. these drive their bass at an elegant 30mm. love them.
