February is over but the narrative is not.

it’s referred to as “america’s favorite pastime,” but with video games and social media and new music, this might not be the first thing that comes to your child’s mind when it comes to a perceived good time but museums… especially if you are interested in the subject matter, can be that. on the east coast we all know about the baseball hall of fame and museum in cooperstown, upstate new york but were you aware that if you live in the midwest there is a similar option available to you, but like too many things in this country, its racially exclusive. it’s the negro league museum and right now it’s 10,000 square feet but they are working on a new location that according to them should be finished before the end of 2028 and is going to house 30,000 square ft. of african american baseball history. however, as far as i know the current location is open but i’m not encouraging you to take a flight to kansas city to visit a museum which i find to be interesting sight unseen. i can’t speak to the experience because i’ve never been there. if you can’t get out there yourself the museum sports a nice collection of licensed negro league jerseys and i will shoot you the link right now, i make no money from it, no kickbacks the jerseys are just cool. but as a guy with a cheap website storefront i don’t like the fact that at that 90$ price point, they are giving a polyester garment that you have to handwash. i mean, the collection is in transition right now… exploitation is always a factor, and if were still here and employed in the next three years that might be the best time to visit… cooperstown is fine, i’ve been there but don’t expect anything but a stockpile of memorablia and educational films on loop. if i’ve swayed you one way or another… the parking situation is supposedly kind of sketchy and 10,000 square feet may not be as impressive to you, with my not having a clear idea of what square footage means in the definition of a building and how spacious it is. i made a few bootleg non-official hoodies and since my third party dropshipping storefront wasn’t hearing trying to make that 5 minute phone call to ask permission for me this blog entry will have to do. i’ll try to refind the news blurb that gave me an idea of what i’m pitching to you.
